Competence:
- Engage in clear and respectful communication with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring that all interactions promote understanding and support the needs of clients and those important to them.
- Support clients in making informed choices about their care while respecting their dignity, autonomy, individual rights, and the perspectives of those important to them.
- Recognise and respect cultural diversity in client interactions, providing equitable care that is inclusive of the values and beliefs of clients and those significant to them, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Be responsible to demonstrate accountability for the quality of care provided by adhering to practice codes, maintaining confidentiality, and documenting all relevant client information accurately.

- Apply effective documentation practices to maintain accurate health care records that reflect client needs, interventions and the concerns of those important to them.
- Demonstrate practical skills in personal care tasks while ensuring client dignity, comfort and respect for the preferences of both clients and those important to them during interactions.
- Monitor clients’ physical and emotional well-being through observation and assessment, reporting any concerns, including those expressed by family or significant others, to appropriate personnel.
- Engage in reflective practice by evaluating personal performance and identifying areas for improvement based on feedback received during placements.
- Utilise technology effectively to enhance communication, documentation, and overall client care delivery.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary environment to provide comprehensive and coordinated care to clients.
Age: 16+
A minimum of MQF Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, such as health care, social care, or related disciplines
A minimum of O-level English (or equivalent) is required, as students must be able to communicate effectively with clients
