This comprhensive 13-week course is designed to enhance your English language skills, accredited by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority.
Entry Requirements:
• Candidates must be 18 years old
• In possession of a minimum qualification at MQF level 3 in English
During the course:
Learners will be able to:
- Describe key components of effective verbal communication in English, including pronunciation, intonation, and non-verbal cues.
- List the stages of a structured conversation in English, such as greetings, introductions, and closing remarks.
- Describe various types of complex English texts, including narratives, expository, persuasive, non-linear texts, and informational texts.
- Identify main ideas, supporting details, and key information from English texts, demonstrating comprehension.
- Explain the components of a well-structured English essay, including thesis statements, topic sentences, and supporting evidence.
Get Qualified Scheme
La Vallette Institute is offering students access to the Malta Get Qualified Scheme, enabling
students to benefit from tax credits that help lower overall study costs. This scheme is highly
valuable, giving back 70% of tuition fees after graduation.

Upon completion of the course, students can apply for various posts which align with their
qualifications and require an MQF Level 4 of English such as the following:
(Note: The skills and competence for the job need to be aligned with the other qualifications of the students. This course will enhance the student’s employability for roles requiring a minimum MQF Level 4 of English to carry out the job.)

- Other relevant jobs which require the use of English as a mode of communication.
Assessments will be conducted through:
- Written Exams Test your understanding of the course material and your ability to articulate complex ideas in written English.
- Oral Presentations Demonstrate your verbal communication skills and proficiency in English.
- Group Projects Collaborate with peers to solve problems and present solutions in English.
- Role-Playing Exercises Engage in simulations to practice real-world communication scenarios.
Learners will be able to:
- Apply effective English communication skills in real-world situations, demonstrating the ability to adapt language to diverse contexts, such as professional settings and everyday life.
- Practice active listening techniques to engage in meaningful English conversations, showing proficiency in understanding and responding appropriately.
- Plan well-structured English written materials, including essays, reports, and presentations, that effectively convey ideas and information.
- Compose and arrange persuasive and informative complex English texts with clarity and coherence, showcasing the skill to engage, inform, and persuade different audiences.
- Prepare and construct comprehensive written and spoken English responses, assembling arguments, evidence, and ideas effectively to articulate complex thoughts and concepts.
To enroll in this course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
Age: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Qualification: Applicants are required to have a minimum qualification of MQF (Malta Qualifications Framework) Level 3 in English. This ensures that all participants have a foundational understanding of the English language, which will be built upon throughout the course.
